The Greek Ship – A Legendary Wreck on Kish Island
The Greek cargo ship Koula F, built in 1943 by the British shipyard William Hamilton and Company in Port Glasgow, Scotland, was originally named Empire Trumpet. From 1946 to 1966, the ship was owned by a series of British and Iranian owners and was given various names. The final owners were Greek, and the name "Koula F" originates from them. However, it is commonly referred to simply as the Greek Ship. The vessel ran aground in 1966, southwest of Kish, and has since become a popular tourist attraction, with hundreds of people gathering on the beach to enjoy the stunning sunset views in the evening.
