Arrival in Tehran, departure flight to Isfahan
Your unforgettable journey will start with a visit to the Golestan Palace. Here you will have opportunity to discover the unique architecture of the Qajar epoch, which vividly reflects the introduction of European motifs and styles into Persian art.
The palace building will amaze you with its both external and internal structures. Moreover, Golestan is currently an ethnographic museum, including halls with scenes of everyday life, handicrafts, musical instruments, collection of folk costumes from different regions and provinces of the country.
After lunch you will visit one of the most important sights of Tehran – the Azadi Tower, also known as the "Gateway to Tehran". In accordance with the author`s conceptual idea, the arch of the tower represents hands that are folded in a prayer gesture.
The next point of the tour in Tehran will be a walk along the Tabiat Bridge which is one of the favorite places of Tehran residents. After that you will take a flight to Isfahan.
Isfahan City Tour: Vank Cathedral, Naqsh-e Jahan Square
Isfahan is a cultural and tourist capital of Iran, so it can be called the “Sister City” of St. Petersburg. You will start to explore one of the most amazing cities in the world with a visit to the Armenian Quarter and the Holy Savior Cathedral (Vank Cathedral).
Hundreds of Armenians who migrated to Isfahan during the Turkish-Persian War of 1603-1618 contributed to the construction of the cathedral. In the Vank Cathedral you will have opportunity to learn more about the history and life of local Armenians by observing church objects and paintings, gifts from Russian tsars and patriarchs, ethnic artifacts, beautiful tiles, ancient Armenian Gospel Books.
After lunch, you will take a trip to the Chehel Sotoon Palace. The palace was built in the 17th century at the behest of Shah Abbas II. Originally constructed as a residence for the Shah, the palace turned out to be beautiful. This place attracts the attention of many tourists due to its interesting architecture, as well as a magnificent garden.The next object of your route will be the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, built on the Imam Square in Isfahan. Here you will visually verify why the mosque is considered to be one of the most beautiful and grandiose masterpieces of architecture not only in Iran, but also in the whole world.
The next point of your route will be a walk along one of the largest squares in the world - Naqsh-e Jahan (one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites). The guide will tell you about the meaning of the name of the square, its significance in different years of its existence, its historical connection to the Safavid dynasty.
Trip to Abyaneh village (261 km)
After breakfast you will visit the Jami Mosque, a prime example of mosque architecture in Iran for twelve centuries dating back to the year 841 AD. It is the oldest preserved building of its type in Iran.
After a short walk you will take a trip to the village of Abyaneh, a historical monument of Iran. This village has become one of the most visited attractions in Isfahan province due to its unusual architecture. Abyaneh houses are located on the mountain slopes by the river in such a way that the flat roofs of the lower buildings form the courtyards of those above.
You will complete your evening with a trip to Kashan and accommodation at the hotel.
Kashan: Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse ,Tabatabaei Historical House, Fin Garden. Return to Tehran (200 km)
In Kashan you will visit the historic mansion of a wealthy 19th-century merchant of carpets, and the nearby hammam - Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse. The guide will tell you about the lives of wealthy merchants in Iran in the 18th and 19th centuries, the architectural features adapted to the desert climate of Kashan, the local residents of the city.
After lunch you will take a walk through the magnificent Fin Garden. The garden was added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 2012.
After dinner you will travel back to Tehran, stay at a hotel near the airport and take some rest before departure flight.
