The largest five-star hotel in northern Tehran, 6 km from the city centre, the Parsian Esteghlal enjoys a prime location at the intersection of Chamran Highway and Vali Asr Street, offering easy access to the heart of the capital. Opened in 1962 as part of the Hilton hotel chain, it was originally named Royal Tehran Hilton and was the largest hotel in the Middle East at the time. Designed by renowned Iranian architect Heydar Giai, its construction involved American and British specialists. Over the years, it hosted film productions, beauty contests, and world-famous guests. Following the 1979 revolution, the hotel came under Iranian management and was renamed. The complex consists of East and West Towers, with the East Tower undergoing major renovations in 1997. While some features may appear outdated, the hotel remains a historic landmark.
