Iran Tourism

Iran tourism is rapidly developing, attracting travelers with a unique combination of ancient history, distinctive culture, and diverse natural beauty.

Iran's key tourist centers remain Isfahan, Shiraz, and Tehran. In Isfahan, tourists visit Imam Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque. Shiraz is known as a city of poets and gardens; nearby are the ruins of Persepolis, a symbol of ancient Persian civilization. In Tehran, the Golestan Palace and the National Museum, home to artifacts from the Elamite and Achaemenid periods, are of interest.

A trip to Iran isn't limited to cities: natural attractions make up a significant part of the tourist potential. The Dizin ski resort offers skiing from December to March. The Dasht-e Lut Desert offers safaris and stargazing, while the islands of Kish and Qeshm offer beach holidays and diving in the Persian Gulf. Habr National Park offers hiking trails and rare wildlife.

Certain rules apply to tourists: a dress code (long sleeves, covered knees, headscarves for women) and respect for local customs are required. A visa is issued in advance or upon arrival (depending on nationality). Transportation is well developed in major cities, but it is best to travel to remote areas with a guide.
