Iran Geography

Iran Geography encompasses a diverse landscape: mountain ranges including the Zagros and Alborz mountains, vast plateaus, coastal areas of the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf, and the desert regions of Dasht-e Lut and Dasht-e Kavir. Located in Southwest Asia, Iran borders regions of seven countries by land and shares maritime boundaries with eight countries—a total of 15 neighboring states in three subregions of Asia and the Caspian Sea.
