Iran Politics

Iran's politics are based on the Islamic republican model, where religious institutions play a key role. Supreme authority rests with the Rahbar (Supreme Leader), who determines the strategic directions of foreign and domestic policy. The president serves as head of government, but his powers are limited.

Iran's politics are characterized by the strong influence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and conservative forces. Iran's foreign policy is focused on strengthening its regional position, leading to tensions with the United States and some Arab states. Domestically, restrictions on civil liberties remain in accordance with Sharia law.
