Babol Ganjineh Museum, also known as the Babol Treasure Museum, is a cultural gem in Mazandaran Province, housed in a beautifully restored Pahlavi-era building that once served as the city’s municipality. Established in 1996, the museum features three main sections: archaeology, anthropology, and wooden artworks, offering a rich journey through Iran’s prehistoric, Islamic, and regional heritage.
Visitors can explore ancient pottery from the 3rd and 4th millennia BC, bronze weapons from the Parthian and Sassanid eras, and rare coins and manuscripts from the Achaemenid to Qajar periods. The anthropology section showcases traditional clothing, crafts, and daily life of Mazandaran’s diverse ethnic groups, while the wooden art hall displays intricately carved doors, windows, and grave markers—some over 500 years old.
