
Band-e Dareh Dam, located near Birjand in South Khorasan Province, Iran, is a historical dam built in the Qajar era (1785-1925). It was constructed using loose stones from nearby mountains, brick, and Sarooj (a mortar of lime and clay). The dam is approximately 31 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 13 meters high. It was registered as a National Heritage Site in 2002. The dam impounds a lake and was built to provide a water source, and some of the water is also used to supply a sugar factory.
