Gorgan Craft Museum (Handicrafts Museum of Gorgan)

Attraction in Golestan | Gorgan Craft Museum (Handicrafts Museum of Gorgan)
Gorgan Craft Museum, also known as the Handicrafts Museum of Gorgan, is housed in the beautifully restored Amir Latifi Mansion, a Qajar-era residence located near Gorgan’s historic Jameh Mosque. This nationally registered heritage site showcases over 76 types of traditional and regional crafts, including Turkmen weaving, wood carving, pottery, jewelry, and more—representing the diverse ethnic tapestry of Golestan Province. The museum also features wax figures, educational workshops, and a crafts store, making it both a cultural showcase and a living center for preserving local artistry.

The mansion itself is a masterpiece of northern Iranian architecture, with a central courtyard, arched entrance, colorful tilework, and a pond surrounded by flower pots—evoking the charm of old Gorgan. Visitors can explore its interior halls, porches, and cellars, all restored to reflect their original elegance. Whether you're a history buff, a craft enthusiast, or just a curious traveler, the Gorgan Craft Museum offers a rich, immersive experience into the region’s artistic soul.
