Your tour to Iran will begin with the sightseeing tour of Tehran. You will get acquainted with the capital visiting the Golestan Palace, the residence of the last Shah of the Qajar dynasty, Naser al-Din Shah, who reigned from 1848 to 1946. He was a great reformer who sought to bring the conservative Iranian society closer to the European way of living, that ultimately led to his downfall.

Although the Golestan Palace was built in the 16th century, it reflects the style of the 19th and 20th centuries. As you stroll through the museum complex, you will discover the architecture of the 19th century, learn about history of Iran from the 18th to the 20th centuries, and explore the influences of Russia and Britain, the painting and art of the time, the Shah's harem, and how the Shah Qajar's travel to Europe impacted the culture of that era.

After visiting the main attractions of the Iranian capital, you will head to the airport to continue your tour to the homeland of the Persians, the birthplace of Iranian culture – Shiraz, which served as the capital of Persia from the 16th to the 18th centuries.

The sightseeing tour of Shiraz

In the heart of Iran, in Fars province, lies the city of blooming gardens, poetry, and wine – Shiraz. Its beauty has been celebrated in the verses of great Persian poets, Hafez and Saadi. The tombs of these poets have become cultural treasures of Shiraz, attracting pilgrims from around the world hoping to touch ancient sanctuaries and discover the mysteries of the Persian soul.
As the locals say, it’s hard not to be a poet in Shiraz.

At dawn, you will head for a photo shoot at Nasir al-Mulk Mosque. It’s better to visit the mosque early in the morning, when the first rays of sunlight pierce through the colourful stained glass, filling the hall with a variety of shades and patterns.
After a breakfast break, you will continue your tour of Shiraz, exploring Persian poetry, visiting the city’s landmarks and learning about Sufism and its followers.

On your way to Yazd, you will visit the ancient capital of the Persian Empire – Persepolis, and the Naqsh-e Rostam tomb. The vast Achaemenid Empire, which extended from the eastern Mediterranean and Egypt to the Indus River in India, is considered the first empire characterised by a respect for the cultural diversity of its people. This respect is reflected in Achaemenid architecture, which represents a synthesis of the various cultures within the empire.

You will then take a stroll through the historical centre of Yazd. Yazd is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is older than the Egyptian pyramids and the same age with biblical Babylon. It also has preserved its traditional architecture style to this day. The historic centre of Yazd is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Departure for Isfahan. Meybod

After breakfast, you will learn about one of the oldest religions – Zoroastrianism – at the Fire Temple, visit the Towers of Silence, and then depart for the city of Isfahan.

On your way to the Iranian cultural capital, you will stop in the city of Meybod, where you can explore the Narine Fortress. Here you will also visit the watermills, old mosques, and discover how the Persians managed to address water issue in the desert B.C.

The tour of Isfahan

On the fifth day of your tour of Iran, you will visit the attractions of Isfahan, which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Khaju Bridge and the famous Naqsh-e Jahan Square, with its ancient buildings and architectural monuments, make Isfahan a “jewel of Iran”.

Your guide will tell you about the great monarch Shah Abbas, who reigned from 1571 to 1629. his contribution to the development of Iran, and how it impacted the formation of the country’s modern history. You will learn how Armenians were resettled to this city to promote trade and how the Orthodox faith is peacefully practised within an Islamic state.

The next stop on your tour of Iran is the historic city of Kashan, located in the Iranian desert. After a brief shopping in Isfahan, you will continue your journey.

On your way to Kashan, you will visit the authentic village of Abyaneh, situated at the foothills of the Karkas Mountains. One of the fascinating things about Abyaneh is its architecture. The village features a maze of steep, winding streets and houses made of red mud-brick, with lattice windows and delicate wooden balconies arranged so that the flat roofs of the lower houses serve as courtyards for those above, making it stand out from other villages.

Besides its architecture, Abyaneh has a unique culture that is distinctly different from nearby areas. The locals speak their own dialect, which is older than modern Persian, wear traditional clothing, and adhere to their customs and cultural practices.

After wandering through the winding corridors of this unique underground complex, you will depart for Tehran, where you will have time to rest and to pack.
